Overview

Your transfer begins from your accommodation place; you will be picked up in a in a brand new Mercedes Benz V-class luxury minivan and driven along the Reykjanes Peninsula. The sites we visit on Reykjanes are some of the most stunning natural phenomena in the whole of Iceland, most of them being made from rather young lava. This provides you with a great opportunity for sightseeing; this stretch is renowned for its iconic volcanoes, expanses of lava and craggy coastline. You will know you have reached the Blue Lagoon when you see a column of steam rising ahead.

Activity itinerary

Kerid Crater
  • 20m
Our first stop will be Kleifarvatn lake, the largest lake on the peninsula. Its southern part is warm from hot springs running into the lake but is otherwise very cold. It's a perfect place for photographing because of its volcanic surroundings and bright blue water.
Geothermal Area Krysuvik
  • 25m
Our second stop is the geothermal springs of Krýsuvík, located in the middle of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Dramatically colored hills create a beautiful view over the volcanic vents and boiling hot springs.
Grindavik (Pass by)
Grindavík is our next stop, a somewhat isolated fishing town in a small inlet on the very southwesternmost corner of the peninsula.
Gunnuhver Hot Springs
  • 20m
Next, we travel to Gunnuhver hot spring. Its boiling water and mud pools were said in earlier times to get their energy from a ghost trapped underground by a priest.
Reykjanes Lighthouse
  • 20m
Close by is the Reykjanes lighthouse, Iceland’s very first lighthouse, built-in 1878 but destroyed by an earthquake eight years later and then rebuilt entirely in 1929.
Valahnúkamöl
  • 20m
Valahnúkar and Valahnúkamöl which are unique cliffs and rocks made from some of the oldest lava on the peninsula. From there a great view to Eldey. The name of this chain is Fuglasker or Eldeyjar. One of those skerries was Geirfuglasker, where the last breeding colonies of the Great Auk was located.
Bridge Between Continents
  • 25m
Next up is a genuinely world-famous bridge-the bridge between Europe and America. The earth’s tectonic plates, namely the European and the North American plates, meet there and form the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
Brimketill
  • 20m
Brimketill lava rock pool is next up. It's a little pool right at the edge of the land, supposedly occupied by a giantess named Oddný by folklore tales. The viewing platform above offers the possibility of getting soaked from the waves splashing against the rocks.
Blue Lagoon
  • 3h
  • Admission ticket included
The one and only Blue Lagoon will be our final destination of the private day tour, where you will be able to bathe and relax to the fullest. The admission to the Blue Lagoon is included in the tour price. Your private driver will wait after you and return you to your accommodation place.
