Description

Get picked up from your hotel or home and transferred to Catalina Express terminal, Long Beach.

Enjoy a 1 hour leisurely cruise from Long Beach to the island aboard a comfortable ship with ample indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Once you arrive on Catalina, join your tour guide and find a seat in an open-air Hummer capable of handling the toughest terrain while offering unencumbered views of the surrounding landscapes. Ride down gravel roads towards the island's eastern shore, keeping a lookout for stampeding buffalo and sprinting foxes.

Climb up shrubby slopes to reach vistas 1,480 feet (451 m) above sea level, where you can snap spectacular photos of the island's inland mountains, rocky coastline, and sparkling water. Lined by beautiful eucalyptus trees, the tour winds its way back along the Summit Road into Avalon. As you head back to your starting point, feel free to ask questions of your knowledgeable guide and listen to stories about the area's early history.

Driver / tour guide was humorous and knowledgeable, trying to make the tour fun. However, the view itself is not as good as expected given that kind of price. Also couldn’t even see group of buffelos. Only 1-2 and they are actually not wild but abandoned. I wouldn’t recommend to go.

First, our driver did not get us to the ferry on time and we missed it and had to take next one. Therefore our time on Catalina was short to have time to explore on our own. Additionally, the activity was Extreme speed and close to the edge driving in jeep. Even after request to slow down was ignored. it basically was a very scary roller coaster ride in the mountains on dirt /gravel roads with 3 stops for photos. We did not go for a thrill ride and that was basically what it was! One small mistake and 12 people would have Ben dead and the driver. I would appreciat your feedback! Thanks!
