Description

Your local qualified tour guide will explain how and why this vibrant city has changed and you will literally be shown the highlights of Liverpool from 138m above the city when you visit St John's Beacon.

This is an easy 90-minute walking tour from the Beatles Statues on the waterfront alongside the Royal Albert Docks & through the World Heritage Site. You will be guided through the retail and leisure area called Liverpool One, and you will visit the famous Cavern Club on this exciting tour.

Meet your local tour guide by the Liverpool waterfront, starting with “selfies” of the larger-than-life Beatles statues in front of the Liver Buildings. Your guide points out the Dazzle Ferry on the water, with its design by Sir Peter Blake, the artist responsible for the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover and will explain the maritime history and descirbe the principle waterfront buildings “The Three Graces”. Next its a visit to the Museum of Liverpool to visit the world renowned “Double Fantasy” John Lenoon & Yoko Ono exhibition which was curated and opened by Yoko Ono herself in 2018 and its an extremely poignant and provoking look at her life in particular her time with John and contains lots of her own and John's possessions.

You're then guided alongside the Royal Albert Docks through the World Heritage Site into the city center, passing the Town Hall where the Beatles made their homecoming in 1964. Your guide takes you through Liverpool ONE, a modern leisure complex, and to visit the Cavern Club where the Beatles played 292 times from 1961 to 1963. Your last stop on the tour is the Radio City Tower. Rise 453 feet (138 m) above the city with panoramic views on a clear day as far as North Wales.

Highlights of this tour were mainly the John & Yoko Experience and The Cavern Club. There seemed to be a lot of other information that did not directly involve The Beatles. Such as, another singer/performer who also knew somone that The Beatles also knew but had never actually interacted with The Beatles. I did find it ironic that there was not one specific shop dedicated to only the Beatles. Maybe that is something that can be incorporated into the tour.
