This trip started out with the driver being an hour and a half late. The number on the sheet provided by Expedia for the company was wrong as it was too short to be a complete number. Hell’s Gate is an hour and a half from Nairobi and the drive takes you through the unseen parts of Kenya. I ended up having to pay park admission fees for myself and the driver. The park itself was beautiful and a once in a lifetime experience. The guide was incredibly well informed. When you get to the gorge you have to pay an additional $30 to the Maasai community to hike through the gorge. There are lots of hidden fees that are not mentioned by Expedia. The hike was very difficult for an inexperienced hiker but it was so beautiful and worth it. The guide once again was great. I had to pay $30 for the boat ride which was supposed to be included and I had to pay for the drivers’ lunch as well. Also no drinks were included as stated in the description. The day was great and I’m thankful I went.
