Description

Reap the rewards of the Atherton Tablelands' lush environs during a guided food and wine tour. Taste the wonders produced by the region's rich volcanic soil, making stops at de Brueys Boutique Wines, Mt. Uncle Distillery, Gallo Dairyland, and Jaques Coffee Plantation along the way.

Your day begins with convenient pickup from your Port Douglas hotel, followed by a smooth journey through the tropical forest. Beyond the jungle, crest rolling hills and weave through a region dotted with dairy farms until you reach Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Here, savor a spot of tea and a slice of soda bread and macadamia-nut better with the beat of the didgeridoo in the distance.

After breakfast, head to de Brueys Boutique Wines, situated near a stunning mango orchard. Sip a glass of wine made from tropical fruits while gazing at a landscape filled with gum trees and waterfalls. Before long, it's time to move on to Mt. Uncle Distillery, where award-winning spirits beckon inside a tasting room nestled into the grounds of a coffee and banana plantation.

Before the tour is through, visit Gallo Dairyland and the Jaques Coffee Plantation. Your guide treats you to lunch before ushering you to your final stop at the Platypus Hut, where you can sip a frosty beer while keeping your eyes peeled for resident platypus darting about in a mountain stream at sunset.

We had a lovely day with Dale, passing through several different climate zones and tasting all sorts of culinary delights. He was a wealth of knowledge and wonderfully entertaining the entire trip. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone. The only slight dip in an otherwise perfect day was the mango wine stop. The sparkling wine and mango ice cream were lovely, but we could have passed on the other drinks and the general atmosphere, which was less than welcoming and a little rushed. However, since every other part of the experience was flawless, we enthusiastically recommend this tour. It’s a perfect way to spend a day.
