Description

Your trip to Monument Valley begins with a scenic drive through the Ponderosa pine forest . Enjoy the comfort of a 14-passenger vehicle as an experienced guide regales you with tales of the Southwest and make frequent photo stops on your way to admire the massive red buttes of Monument Valley.

Drive through the San Francisco Volcanic Field to the famous and historic Cameron Trading Post, established in 1916 and a fascinating introduction to Navajo crafts. Along the way, your guide shares stories about Native American history and culture.

Next, head into the land of the Diné Bikéyah and see the traditional houses of the Navajo on your way to Navajo Nation, a Native American reservation. Once at Monument Valley Tribal Park, take in spectacular views of the red rock monoliths ascending from the valley floor and dine at The View Restaurant.

Inspiration to medicine men and Hollywood directors, Monument Valley and its vast sandstone buttes make one of the most remarkable scenes in the world—as well as a picturesque background in many Western films. As you travel through the visually impressive landscape, your guide shares stories of the stunning geology and Native American culture.

Had the opportunity to meet both Arizona Larry as our Tour guide and Loui, a local Navaho. Larry was very knowledgeable on Geology, history and science as well as making everyone comfortable including some good laughter. He knows where all the great visuals are. Don't make a trip out to Monument Valley without going on this tour.

Wow, what a day. Got picked up precisely on time in Flagstaff and dropped off back in Flagstaff 13 hours later. Our guide, Kevin, was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned so much. And Monument Valley is spectacular. The road through the Valley is pretty rough but well worth it. Buying souvenirs from the people making them was very special. Thanks for a terrific day.
