Description

Explore Hong Kong's neighboring cities of Shenzhen, Shekou, and Guangzhou on this full-day tour. Encounter China's giant panda up close, discover the ancient Qin dynasty's terracotta warriors, and visit popular temples, memorials, and landmarks in Guangzhou.

After pickup in the morning from your hotel, arrive at Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal for a 50-minute catamaran cruise to mainland China. As you cruise, breathe in the refreshing sea air and take in the picturesque ocean views.

Upon arrival at Shekou port, make your way to Shenzhen Zoo by coach. Take a can't-miss opportunity to get up-close and personal with China's national treasure, the giant panda.

Next, see a display of life-size terracotta figures and horses that were unearthed in Xi'an. At this exhibition learn the fascinating history behind the Terracotta Army.

Continue on to Guangzhou and break for a delicious local lunch before your sightseeing tour of China's third largest city. Visit the 6 Banyan Tree Temple, an ancient Buddhist site built in 537 AD during the Liang dynasty. Then stop by the Memorial Hall of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the first president and founding father of the Republic of China.

Aside from seeing the pandas at the zoo and a very brief view of terra cotta warriors, this was a wasted trip. It was 16 hours long, leaving our hotel at 7am and returning at 11pm. The Hong Kong guide was good, but she basically just got us into China. Once there, we had a terrible guide. He pointed out things like a Lexus dealership instead of things that would be of interest and were different from the US. There was nothing really to see in Guangzhou. Lunch was good, but not worth the 2 hour bus ride in an old, squeaky bus with no shocks. The trip started at a kindergarten. No one understood really why, except perhaps to show us happy Chinese children. It was just odd. Then we got to see the terra cotta warriors (3 that had been sent there). That was interesting but you only got to see them for a few minutes and could not take any pictures. Find a shorter trip if you want to get into China.

Our guide stayed with our group through the entire tour and really ensured our safety at all times. A view of the pandas was amazing. We got to see them up close and they were walking around and eating for us. The lunch was lovely and plenty of food. Visit to see the warriors was very interesting. Highly recommend this tour.

I enjoyed the trip but the main reason I chose the trip was was to see pandas in a sanctuary not through glass at a zoo and also the terricotta soldiers 3 and a horsein a jade factory was nothing like what I was expecting. Transformation boat train and bus was very good and so were the guides.
