Our guide will provide a cultural presentation of traditional tools and artefacts once used by Yidinji people as well as the traditional boundaries and seasonal movements of the Yidinji clans. You will also take a 200m return walk in to the rainforest to view the 500-year-old strangler fig and learn about it's cultural significance to the Yidinji people.
Lake Barrine

At Lake Barrine, we will enjoy a light morning tea followed by a short 7m stroll along the boardwalk to view the ancient Kauri pines, believed to be over 1000 years old. Here we explain the recent settlement and timber harvesting history and it's impacts on the local Aboriginal groups as well as learn about the creation of the crater lakes and how science can prove an ancient dreamtime story.
