The shipwreck-dotted seabed and rich marine environment off the coast of the Bahamas offer certified divers a wealth of aquatic settings to explore. Set out for an unforgettable experience diving along a stunning sea wall and next to a ghostly sunken wreck during this half-day outing.

Begin your excursion with a dive along one of New Providence Island’s undersea walls—some of these vertical facades drop down more than 6,000 feet (1,828 m) into the Tongue of the Ocean, the Bahamas’ deep oceanic trench. Marvel at the corals and sponges that blanket the wall as shafts of sunlight filter down from the surface.

Follow shoals of tropical fish and keep your eyes peeled for pelagic species that come to feed along the sheer drop-off—it’s not unlike scaling a vibrant and teeming skyscraper in the deeps.

Your second dive takes you to either the intricate coral formations of a shallow reef or one of the Bahamas' well-known wrecks. Watch for moray eels poking out of crevices in the sunken Cessna used in the filming of Jaws, or Caribbean reef sharks and gentle sea turtles cruising the depths around submerged ships and freighters you may recognize from James Bond movies—these eerie underwater skeletons offer an intriguing alternative to the natural reefs in the area.
