Description

Avoid the crowds on the cruise company's big buses and enjoy a scenic tour on the drive between Anchorage and the cruise terminal in Whittier. Stop to see Portage Glacier up close and visit the animals at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to start your Alaskan cruising adventure right.

Kick off your Alaska cruise adventure by opting for a small-group transfer from Anchorage to the cruise terminal in Whittier. Get picked up from the airport, your hotel, or another convenient location in town, and then enjoy a guided tour en route for a ride that's much more than simple transportation.

Your guide and driver shares commentary about Alaska's breathtaking natural features as you drive, and stops at several viewpoints that offer great photo opportunities. At Beluga Point, get out and snap photos of the tidal flats along Cook Inlet and watch for breaching beluga whales offshore. Tour past the Turnagain Arm and through Portage Valley to reach Portage Glacier, where you can observe this ancient frozen giant as it inches along, carving its path through the mountainous landscape. Make your way to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. As you explore this impressive facility, learn about efforts to rehabilitate injured or orphaned animals and see bears, moose, caribou, and eagles before getting dropped off at your cruise ship in Whittier.

Nice, courteous and stress free way of getting to Whittier from Anchorage. It is a stress free way to start your cruise. Drivers are helpful and pick you up right in front of hotel. Wild animal park is fun. Gave a 4 stars because the phone # on Expedia print out is wrong. I have to find another # alternative phone # to call to confirm. Slight panic for few min, though I have to arrange other way to get to cruise.phew!!!
