Hear stories taken from the Book of Mormon about the walled city of Tulum, a Pre-Columbian Mayan seaport. This once-thriving city is built on cliffs overlooking pristine beaches, a breathtaking site rich in historical detail. The testifying spirit of your guide brings the scripture into context.

Tulum—which means “wall”—was one of the last cities inhabited by the Mayans, located on 39 foot (12 m) tall cliffs along the Caribbean Sea. The other side of the city is surrounded by 16 foot (5 m) tall limestone walls that once protected this major port's turquoise and jade trade.

Your guide leads you to the ruins of the Castillo (castle), perched on the cliff side overlooking the Caribbean coast. After climbing to the top, take a moment to enjoy the cool ocean breeze and astounding views before climbing down to explore the Temple of the Frescoes.

Take a walk along the beach to capture views of the ancient city situated high upon the cliffs. On your way back to town stop at a local cenote, a sinkhole containing a pool of refreshing ground water, after descending the stairs to the bottom.
