Description

Embark on a lively night of tasty Portuguese food, drinks, and traditional music on this sunset walking tour with a local guide. Hear the soulful sounds of Fado music in local taverns, explore the oldest quarter in the city, and finish with a live Fado performance while indulging in a dinner of traditional Portuguese tapas and wine.

Greet your guide and head to the culturally rich district of Mouraria—the birthplace of Fado music. Here you’ll have a chance to try a sip of Ginjinha, Lisbon’s local liqueur. Next, grab a seat in a traditional tavern and revel in the haunting melodies of a Fado performance.

Next, you will descend to the city’s oldest district, Alfama, and wind your way through its narrow cobblestone passageways and across charming squares until you reach the Tagus River.

Stroll along the scenic riverbank towards a local favourite music venue. Here, catch your second Fado performance of the night, accompanied by a dinner of traditional Portuguese tapas and wine—a delicious way to cap off your tour.

This tour was beyond amazing. We started out in the center by the Hotel Mundial (go early and check out the rooftop bar) and then made our way up the charming hills of Lisbon to the old towns near the castle. The views were breathtaking. Our guide Pedro was enthusiastic and very informative about all the different cultures that have formed this unique place through the centuries. We ended our night with the most delicious simple meal and wines. The best part of course was the Fado and the proprietor of the restaurant was one of several amazing singers. We were a small group and it totally felt like just a bunch of friends out for the night!

Ines was a very informative guide. We enjoyed listening to and earning about the history of Fado music. The cod dinner during the Fado performance was excellent. I'm not a big fan of cod, but this dish was nicely done. It was not salty or strong flavoured as cod typically is. Overall it was a good experience.

I enjoyed the route, the food and the Fado. Our guide’s love for Lisbon gave the group a feeling of warmth and welcoming.
