Description

Relive the dramatic story of patriots and revolutionaries through the immersive galleries and historical scenes in the Museum of the American Revolution. Its halls take you on a journey from the first signs of unrest in Boston to the Continental Congress and the ideals that echoed around the world.

Featuring a rich collection of weapons, letters, artwork, and personal effects from the Revolutionary War era, the museum is organized into a series of environments and theater experiences that show you recreated moments that bring the pivotal era to life. Get a look at artifacts bearing the signage of King George III, personal diaries, and even a replica of a ship used by wartime privateers.

With a focus on ordinary people, the museum highlights the lives of children, women, and men who lived through the American republic's formative years. See how the conflicting ideals of loyalty, liberty, and independence affected people ranging from a German baroness to Native Americans, freedmen, and slaves. Get a fresh appreciation for the complexities and the remarkable confluence of events that created the country we know today.

The driving directions on their site were wrong. There is no 6th street exit off 676. The museum was wonderful. Comprehensive and the exhibits were very well done. The food in the cafe was great.

The person at the ticket desk was rude. She didn’t seem happy that I had purchased my tickets from Expedia and had to process us a little differently. My brother tried to lighten the mood by cracking a joke, but she wasn’t interested and just rolled her eyes. Had I not already paid for the tickets I may have changed my mind about going in. Thankfully all other staff was pleasant and we enjoyed our visit.
