There's no more thrilling way to explore everything the North Shore has to offer than by dune buggy. Strap in for a tour that lets you see the historic town of Haleiwa, check out crashing waves that draw surfers from around the world, and explore Sunset Beach and Sharks Cove.

Stop 1:

Your adventure starts in the vintage surf town Haleiwa, on the North Shore of Oahu. Jump behind the wheel of your dune buggy and make your way along the shoreline past gorgeous bays to popular Laniakea Beach. Marvel at beautiful sea turtles in their natural habitat, swimming in the crystal-clear waters or sunbathing on the sand.

Stop 2:

Make your way to Waimea Valley and one of the most popular waterfalls on the North Shore. Take a brief trolley ride through gorgeous botanical gardens, watching for native birds on your way up to the breathtaking falls. Snap pictures and take a refreshing dip, if you like, before returning to your buggy.

Stop 3:

Now that you've worked up an appetite, take a quick jaunt around the bay and arrive at Shark’s Cove for a bite to eat at one of many local food trucks. Options include sandwiches, tacos, Thai, and plenty of fresh seafood.

Stop 4:

Set off for one of the most beautiful lookouts on the North Shore—Pu'u o Mahuka Heiau. This viewpoint lets you marvel at the breathtaking Waimea Bay and get a look at some sacred temple ruins.

Stop 5:

Buggy back down the hill and begin a relaxing ride to Kawela Bay, with views of beaches and seasonal swells along the way. Arrive at a secluded beach with a grove of banyan trees before moving on to filming locations for Lost, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Hawaii Five-0. End this stop by visiting a local fruit stand offering fresh mangos, coconuts, papaya, and other local fruits.

Stop 6:

Stop at the world-famous Sunset Beach on your way back to Haleiwa. This beach is a part of the 7-mile stretch along Oahu's north shore and offers beautiful white sand and impressive waves, particularly during the winter months. Enjoy a quick stop for photos before buggying back to Haleiwa without interruption.

Stop 7:

Your tour ends here—hit Matsumoto for some shave and pick up a few souvenirs before jumping back on the shuttle.
