The receptionist was very helpful when we went to book in, explained where we would embark and the time. The upper decks of the boat were overcrowded, not enough seats for everyone so most were standing. We left the harbour on time. Sadly the night we sailed was cloudy and there were no northern lights. Maybe my impression might have been better had we had a show to watch. However, with no prospect of seeing the lights that evening there was no attempt to make the trip enjoyable for the customers. The host tried very hard to convince us ( and maybe herself) that a glimpse of the lights could be seen, and that there was some possibility of a display at some point in the next 2 hours despite it being a somewhat cloudy evening. I think that if the boat had sailed around the bay with some comentary on what we could see I may have felt that I’d had my money’s worth despite no light show. The boat simply sailed to the other side of the bay then turned around once or possibly twice.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the Northern Lights on our trip. We were originally booked for a Sunday evening, but was cancelled due to a snow storm. We rebooked for Monday night and the aurora forecast didn't look too bad and there was light cloud in Reykjavik. As we went out on the boat we headed straight into a snow storm. The on board guide kept reassuring us that it would clear and it did for about 5 minutes before starting again. Couldn't see a thing around the boat as the weather was so bad and snowing so heavy. We could rebook again as we hadn't seen the lights, so booked via email for the Wednesday. The forecast was clear and a high score of 5 on the aurora activity scale. But as we headed out the sky was covered in cloud. We have been told that because we didn't see the lights our booking will not expire & we can book again, even if in 10 yrs time. I know this is a natural phenomenon, but think this trip would be better done by road, specially as it's so cold in winter.

First night was cancelled due to weather conditions but went the next night. Well organised trip, unfortunately it was still a bit cloudy but we did see something so not the spectacular wow factor we wee looking for but obviously it’s just nature. The crew were good.
