Description

Siem Reap's most unique, authentic top rated (TripAdvisor & Lonely Planet) evening entertainment.

More than just a circus, Phare, the Cambodian Circus performers use theater, music, dance and modern circus arts to tell uniquely Cambodian stories; historical, folk and modern. The young circus artists will astonish you with their energy, emotion, enthusiasm and talent.

Phare artists are students and graduates from Phare Ponleu Selpak's vocational training centre in Battambang. The association was formed in 1994 by 9 young men coming home from a refugee camp after the Khmer Rouge regime. They were greatly helped during that time by an art teacher using drawing classes as therapy and wanted to share this new skill among the poor, socially deprived and troubled youngsters in Battambang. They founded an art school and public school followed to offer free education. A music school and theater school were next and finally, for the kids who wanted more, the circus school. Today more than 1,200 pupils attend the public school daily and 500 attend the alternative schools.

Show:

Khmer Metal is edgy, provocative, unconventional and a whole lot of fun.

Sokrias (Eclipse) Traditional Cambodian folktales around rejection, revenge, and forgiveness centered on a simple question: How far would you go to fight back against rejection and bullying.

The phare performance center is quite intimate No seat is a bad seat but folks are tightly seated on bench risers. Even the back row that had a rail to lean against, is close enough to see the faces of the performers. The show is fun, has a moral story and includes a flare of fun with the audience in the front row. GO! We enjoyed it a lot.

感動とまではいかないがそこそこ面白い。会場が非常に狭いのでリラックスして見られる訳ではないが空調が効いており暑くはない。

Such a fun evening! What an amazing experience, the performers are incredibly talented, it’s impossible to look away! They told a lovely story through their performance and all of the money goes towards a good cause which is great.
