Description

Your aerial tour takes you from Phoenix to enjoy the view of Tonto National Forest, the red sandstone formations around Sedona, the San Francisco Peaks, and Coconino Plateau. When you arrive at the Grand Canyon itself, your scenic overflight takes you just 1,000 feet (300 m) above the South Rim on a route that only a few aircraft are allowed to fly.

Upon landing, your guide takes you in a private van for a trip inside the park, where you admire the view from the rim before your hike into the canyon begins. A series of switchbacks leads you to Ooo-Ahh Point, where the views open up to the panorama of the Grand Canyon in all directions.

Continue on to a picnic area at Cedar Ridge, dropping almost 1,200 feet (365 m) in elevation and showing more than 40 million years of geology layered in the canyon walls. This scenic trail traverses along a ridge line instead of descending a side canyon, allowing for unobstructed views and some excellent photos.

As you descend, learn about the canyon's history, ecosystems, and geology from your guide. After a picnic lunch and some time to explore Cedar Ridge, begin your ascent to the rim to visit the Yaki Point overlook before a van ride to the airport and your flight back to Phoenix.
