Description

Discover the beautiful coastal region of Port Stephens on a full-day nature tour from Sydney. Visit the Australian Reptile Park, look for bottlenose dolphins on a luxury dolphin-watching cruise, and go sand-boarding at the Stockton Bight Sand Dunes. Pristine waterways, golden sandy beaches, eco-diverse Marina and National Parks provide an array of activities for everyone.

Your day begins by crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge and traveling over the Hawkesbury River, a favorite spot for boat lovers. At the Australian Reptile Park, you can interact with animals, including walking with Hugo, a giant but gentle Galapagos tortoise. Hand-feed the friendly kangaroos, see cuddly koalas, and visit Elvis, a huge saltwater crocodile.

Several pods of bottlenose dolphins live in Port Stephens, so you have a good chance to spot some during your dolphin-watching cruise. Your guide provides informative commentary as you take in the spectacular scenery of the bay and the Tomaree and Yacaaba headlands. During the summer months, make sure to pack your swimsuit to ride in the boat’s boom net and cool off in the sea spray.

Back on land, travel in a purpose-built 4WD vehicle to the Stockton Bight Sand Dunes, which is the largest sand dune system in Australia. Sandboard at your own pace and experience the thrill of a high-speed ride down the enormous dunes.

We did this tour and it was super good ! We had the bus driver named John, who was very informative and funny. The coach was nice and new, nice seats and also had Wi-Fi and a Toilet !!! We were picked up at our hotel on time, in total after all the pick ups their was around 32 people on our tour. First stop was the Reptile Park - this was very good, we were treated as VIP, straight through the lines, and into getting your photo taken with Animals, while other regular people had to wait :) Back on the bus for a trip up to Nelson Bay, we had around 1 hour for lunch, before getting on the Moon-Shadow cruise (HOT tip > Take suncreen!!) ON the cruise you have the option of buying some drinks. Free Tea / Coffee provided. Cruise was around 1.5 hours, which we were lucky enough to see :) After this it was off to the sand boarding. This was fun too ! We would definitely recommend this tour.

Tour was on the larger scale, there was 42 people on the large coach, I felt that the tour guides where more about "lecturing " a lot ... I get you have a bus with different languages etc but we are all adults. the Reptile park was nice, photo with a Koala , boat tour for dolphin watching , sandboarding was not what I expected and only 30 minutes for it. I felt after 14 hours there was more time on the coach than on any of the tours, 1 hr at park, 2.5 hrs at boat Marina and 45 minutes at sandboarding , rest all on coach
