Description

Explore the ancient city of Bagan on a private bicycle tour. Navigate temples that are almost a thousand years old while learning about their architectural influences, gleaning fascinating details and historical insight from a knowledgeable guide.

Visit many of Bagan's ancient temples by bicycle, aided by your guide. Bagan is a spectacular plain stretching along the Ayeyarwaddy River, dotted with thousands of temples dating back almost a millennium.

See Ananda Pahto, one of the largest and best-preserved of Bagan's temples, built around 1105 and thought to represent the end of Early Bagan. Thatbyinnyu Pahto is one of the tallest, rising to 200 feet (61 m) and built around the mid-12th century. The ancient library of Pitaka Taik housed over 30 elephant-loads of Buddhist scriptures in 1058, following the sacking of Thaton.

In addition to these, visit Gawdawpalin Pahto, one of the largest and most imposing, and Bupaya, thought to be the oldest temple in Bagan. There are thousands of temples in Bagan, and this barely scratches the surface. Gain a new understanding of human history before returning to your hotel.
