Description

The town of Nis is very close to Sofia and is extremely convenient for one-day tour. The city has a very ancient history, an important station on the main Roman road “Via Diagonalis”.

The city is the 3td largest in Serbia and one of the main industrial centers.Situated in a plain, Nis is surrounded by the eastern hills of the Balkan Mountains. Nish is best known for being the birthplace of Constantine the Great, the Roman emperor who changed history and thanks to him Christianity became one of the greatest religions in the world. Constantine’s Palace Mediana is a major attraction on the outskirts of the city.At the other end of the city is the only one of its kind museum concentration camp, telling the strong history of the people who went through it on the way to the death camps.

The city also offers many interesting places to visit – the Tower of the Skulls, the Fortress in the City Centered, the Archaeological Museum, the main street with its shops and restaurants.
