Uncover the colorful street art that's sprinkled throughout the multicultural capital of George Town. Wander the streets near the water to see a unique combination of sculptures and murals that adorn the city's shops and apartment buildings.

Following pickup from your Penang Island hotel, your private guide leads you through the streets near the harbor, pointing out the cutting-edge murals that have breathed new life into the city since 2012. Admire bold and creative works that tell the history of George Town as well as the contemporary culture of the Penang capital.

As you stroll by colonial buildings and Chinese shophouses, scope out innovative art by Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic. Commissioned in 2012, these pieces blend history and humor, as well as painting, sculpture, and real-life objects. Would not recommend this trip. Our guide arrived 20min late as his agency send him the wrong hotel for pick-up. We were then brought to the starting point of our tour where our guide dropped us and explained us he has to exchange the tour bus as the AC is not working. He explained us which street arts we can find in the streets ahead and told us where we will pick us up again in 30 minutes. We waited nearly an hour till he came back... After that he drove us through the city for maybe 40minutes, stopped multiply times showing us several street arts, all with very less background information to what we could see. After that he drove us to some shops (jewelry, cloth & coffee shops). Would really not recommend. For the price of the tour you can also drive arround all day long by Grab and will still save a lot money..

John is an excellent tour guide. He picked us up in an air conditioned modern station wagon on time, and pointed out all of the historic buildings we passed on the way to the street art murals. He has a wealth of knowledge about Georgetown's history and culture. We saw all of the murals, and learned about the history behind them. He also took us to Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi, the spectacular clan house in the historic district. We took a morning tour, when the temperature was cooler. Once we were done touring, he went beyond the call of duty and drove us around, looking for an air conditioned restaurant. It turns out that there are several restaurants with AC on Jalan Phuah Hin Leong, off of Jalan Burma - Cupid Dupid, Kafe Teels, and Delights.
