Description

Explore the untouched side of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Fraser Island on this adventurous excursion, cruising along the Great Sandy Strait and riding down white-sand beaches in an amphibious vehicle. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, and spend the day snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming.

After you’re picked up from your Hervey Bay hotel, head down to the marina and step aboard the luxurious and spacious Island Venture catamaran. Zip across the calm waters of the Great Sandy Strait, watching the waves for dolphins and dugongs, and keeping your eyes on the shallows to see turtles, birds, and dugongs in the brush.

Next, hop on an amphibious vehicle, perfectly designed for crossing waterways and sandy stretches, and ride across to the western side of the island. Arrive at secluded and remote Wathumba Creek, where a whole array of water activities await. You can snorkel with turtles, kayak, tube, or go for a walk along the beach.

After a scrumptious buffeet lunch on the boat, cruise to Awinya or Bowarrady Creek, where you can jump back into the aquatic fun and games or just relax onboard. In the afternoon, savor afternoon tea and delicious antipasti platters before the relaxing cruise back to the Hervey Bay Marina and your return ride to your hotel.

From late July to early November, be on the lookout for Humpback whales and experience the thrill of getting up close and personal with these majestic creatures as they frolic in the calm, clear waters off Fraser Island.

Nick, Charlie and Brian went above and beyond to ensure a truly once in a lifetime experience. They were profession, knowledgeable and showed us a 'local's view' of Fraser Island and whale watching. We highly recommend this tour and this crew!
