Description

Explore the tropical forest of Puerto Vallarta and its beautiful flora and fauna with a visit to El Nogalito. Walk along the beautiful river to a magical waterfall and discover the area's plants and wildlife on this half-day tour, a breath of fresh air high atop the eco-park's mountain ranges.

El Nogalito, which means “little oak,” got its name from the small oaks found in the higher regions of the river. Nestled in a valley of the Sierra Madre mountain range, this idyllic scene offers thick, lush sub-tropical vegetation, a river of crystal-clear waters, and the peaceful atmosphere of a quiet Mexican village.

Hike up the river to destinations rarely visited by humans, and surround yourself with the pristine scenery, the soothing sounds of the river, and enchanting bird songs. Watch for a colorful dragonfly that may perch on a nearby leaf, a lizard scuttling along a rock, or a wide variety of butterflies and beautiful birds.

After hiking through the magnificent vegetation, you come across a small water cascade flowing into a crystal-clear pool, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim and rest with a light lunch. The more adventurous may climb up to the second level of the falls, where the water is deeper and you can see the work of eons of erosion carved into the granite.

The hike and guide was great. Our voucher said we were supposed to get lunch. After the hike they said lunch was not included even though it was printed on the voucher. Can I get a refund for the lunch I did not receive?
