Amazing! 4.2/5 Expedia Guest Rating

Take this opportunity to explore the largest collection of sacred art in Florence. With your skip-the-line tickets, you can bypass the queue outside and marvel at the many religious works housed in the San Marco Museum.

San Marco is a former convent of the 15th century, built by Michelozzo for the Medici family. During the reign of Lorenzo il Magnifico, this Renaissance building was also used as a meeting point for many Florentine humanists, such as Poliziano and Pico della Mirandola. Today, the convent hosts the major collection of works by Fra Angelico and frescoes by Ghirlandaio and Fra Bartolomeo.

Wander through the dormitory cells fully decorated with Fra Angelico’s frescoes. Marvel at the "Crucifixion," "St. Peter of Verona Triptych," and the famous "San Marco Altarpiece," which shows the enthroned Virgin and Child surrounded by angels and saints.

Spend some time exploring the well-preserved collection of rare bells, precious objects, and relics that were saved from the 19th-century destruction of the convent.
