Description

Grab your helmet and hop on a bicycle to explore San Francisco’s iconic neighborhoods and landmark sights on this self-guided bike tour. Opt for a comfortable hybrid or mountain bike or an electric bicycle as you follow your map to the city’s most celebrated attractions and locals-only districts.

Encompassing a land area of about 46.9 square miles (121 square km) on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, the City by the Bay is a perfectly sized metropolis for exploring by bike. You can opt to cruise around town on a 24-gear comfort hybrid or mountain bike with front and seat suspension, or take advantage of the boost—the city’s famous hills are no joke—from a pedal-assisted electric bicycle.

Choose one of 3 different routes departing from Fisherman's Wharf, and set out at your own pace to dive into the city sights with your takeaway map as your guide. Pedal your way around the charming pastel architecture of the Marina, by the verdant expanse of the Presidio, and onto the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

Head back into town to ride along the bustling seafood restaurants of Fisherman's Wharf and by Ghirardelli Square, or tour the trails, parks, gardens, and museums that fill sprawling Golden Gate Park. Stop at your leisure to snap photos, rest your legs, or grab a bite in one of the city’s reputed eateries. By the time you return your bike, you’ll have your bearings around town and an insider’s knowledge of the city streets.

Fast and efficient bike hire. Warm staff. Great hire location with different drop off location if needed. Fine bikes. Open early and stays open late. Stayed in SF twice now and hired from Bay City Bikes both times. Good stuff.

Quite steep hills to ride up but well worth the ride as the views are amazing. Can take the ferrry back if you didn't want to ride.
