Meet your driver for the day at the main stairs of Teatro Massimo in Palermo, settle into a comfortable minibus, and set off toward the island's southern coast, passing through miles of breathtaking Sicilian countryside along the way. Arrive in Selinunte and enjoy a visit to its archaeological park, which showcases the Acropolis, the temples of the east hill, and the sanctuary of Demetra Malophoros.

We had expected to join a group however my husband and I had a driver and a tour guide. Unfortunately neither spoke much on the way to the Acropolis, well they did to each other in non stop Italian. During the Acropolis visit however our tour guide gave a lot of information about the history referring to maps and books. They joined us for lunch on the beach before driving onto the wine tasting. Clearly neither had been before and we took a detour to a hotel! the scenery was breathtaking. The wine tasting in Sambuca di Sicilia was exceptionally good and well worth every penny, highly recommended
