Description

Explore the coast of Zakynthos with a cruise that takes you along the shores and cliffs that frame the northern side of the island. Check out the famous wrecked freighter at Shipwreck Beach and learn the stories of smuggling and intrigue that surround it as you enjoy a day of sightseeing on the water.

The voyage starts with a ride from your hotel to the main harbor in Zakynthos town, where you board the vessel and set out onto the waters of the Ionian Sea. Get a look at the residential area of Krioneri and the resorts that line the shores of Tsilivi, Alykanas and Alikes, and then cruise past the little turtle-shaped island that stands opposite the port of Agios Nicholas—and officially belongs to the Vatican, which never formally ceded it to Greece.

Get a look at the neighboring island of Kefalonia as you round the northern tip of Skinari, passing close to the famous Blue Caves that lie in the coastal cliffs. Head down along the northwestern coast to reach Navagio Beach—named with the Greek word for “Shipwreck” thanks to the wreck of the MV Panagiotis, which ran aground here in 1980 and still rests on the shore. Learn the rumors of the ship's contraband cargo that led the place to be called Smugglers Cove, and then get some time for a swim in the lovely blue waters before you start the voyage back to port.

First of all, I didn’t receive my ferry ticket. There is no guide. It was such a mess at the port. It was quite disappointed because of the difference between photos and reality. The ferry was so huge, it was impossible to get inside of blue cave. At Navagio too many tourists. I do not recommand this trip. Just purchase on the street, it is cheaper and better organised. Also take a little boat, the ferry takes so long and waste time.
