Description

Take a peek into the United States' fascinating past on a comprehensive small-group tour of Washington, D.C. Canvas the capital city, glimpsing iconic sights including the monuments at the National Mall, the White House South Lawn, Ford's Theater, and Arlington Cemetery.

Get picked up from your Washington, D.C. hotel and settle into your comfortable, air-conditioned transport. With the spire of the Washington Monument gleaming ahead of you, begin with a traverse of the National Mall. Admire the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Marine Corps War Memorial, noting the way time stands still for a moment as you behold these symbols of American history.

Following your jaunt through the mall, head north toward Ford's Theater. Along the way, make a stop at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue—the address of the White House—and snap a memorable photograph on the South Lawn. At Ford's Theater, glimpse the presidential box where Abraham Lincoln sat on the evening he was assassinated.

Enjoy a tasty lunch at your own expense on your way to Arlington Cemetery. Then, cross the glittering Potomac River and head into Arlington. At the cemetery, wander among the picturesque white graves and pay homage to those who have dedicated their lives to fighting for America's freedom.

He was very knowledgeable and very interesting but wanted everyone to stay together at all times. There were some stops we had no desire to see all the memorials and instead wanted to spent more time at the places that interested us. He called me at one point telling us to come to where he was immediately. We knew where the bus was parked and how long we had so there was no reason to demand we all stay together.

We were not notified on our cell phone that the tour was cancelled due to the marathon. Thankfully, the tour guide was accommodating and gave us a private tour on another day. He was awesome!
