Description

Step into a scene right out of Game of Thrones as you explore the ruins of Diocletian’s Palace, the filming location for the hit TV show. Walk in the footsteps of the Unsullied at this ancient Roman site, venture into the cellars of King's Landing, and feast on a breakfast fit for a Lannister.

Bring all the action, fantasy, and adventure of Game of Thrones to life on this walking tour of Diocletian’s Palace, a remarkable Hellenistic compound with 1,700 years of history. Venture down to the palace's basement and dungeons and listen to the genuine ancient history of the Roman complex as well as tales of love, betrayal, and revenge from Game of Thrones that took place within these shadowy halls.

Continue to the City Museum—instantly recognizable from the series, this imposing Gothic structure showcases a display of weapons, artwork, and centuries-old papers highlighting Split's rich past and heritage. Imagine dodging the White Walkers as you meander through the central, colonnaded courtyard of the peristil, a World Heritage Site and the one-time entrance to the bed chambers of Emperor Diocletian.

Channel your inner Night's Watchman as you indulge in a heaping plate of eggs, bacon, housemade sausage, and warm sea salt bread—an essential in the Westeros diet. Quench your thirst over a mug of coffee, mint tea, or a pint of Croatian beer before ending your tour at Riva, Split's modern promenade.

Linda was amazing! It ended up being just my husband and I for our honeymoon visit to Split. Food was excellent, great locations and history.

Our tour guide, Linda, was so kind and very nice! Easy to talk to, very good spoken English and was extremely knowledgable of the history of Diocletian’s palace and the history of the are of Split as well as other things. I couldn’t fault our tour guide however, I did not get the “Game of Thrones” experience I was looking for. There are approximately 5 filming locations in the palace and surrounding local area and so there wasn’t much to say/explore in regards to GOT. Personally, I would recommend this tour for people interested in Diocletian history but probably not for Game of Thrones. I will be booking a Game of Thrones tour in Dubrovnik with my hotel, if possible, before I return home.
