Description

Discover Hanoi’s major sights—from ancient temples and Ho Chi Minh’s sanctuary, to museums and street life in Hanoi's Old Quarter—on this full-day guided tour. Get a glimpse into the daily lives of local Hanoians as you breathe in the smells, tastes, and history of this vibrant city.

Enjoy a morning pick-up from your hotel, and head to the Temple of Literature—home to the country’s first national university and built in honor of Confucius in 1070. Continue to a local tea house, where you can taste an array of greens teas and gain an insight into the significance of tea leaves in local cultures

Your next stop is at Hoa Lo Prison museum—atypically dubbed the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ by US POWs during the American War. Here you can see the remnants of the former prison and discover the history of the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France. Then, head to one of the the largest and oldest churchs in Hanoi—St Joseph’s Cathedral—and admire the Gothic architectural style, often compared to the Notre Dame de Paris.

At the heart of Hanoi—Hoan Kiem Lake, you have the chance to stroll along Huc Bridge—featuring classical Vietnamese designs—that connects to a delightful island situated in the north part of the lake, to visit Ngoc Son temple. We then stop for lunch for a traditional bowl of pho beofre ending the tour, which is definitely a must-do while you're in Vietnam. Wander around the serene complex, surrounded by water and dappled trees, before saying goodbye to your guide and exploring the area further.

I am so glad we did this tour! Our guide, Cuong, was so knowledgeable and funny which made the tour so much fun. He took us to some hole in the wall places that we never would have found or known about. They were some of the best food experiences we had in Hanoi. I wanted Vietnamese coffee to bring home and he walked me to the shop after the tour was over to make sure I got the right kind. The tour itself was interesting and convenient with the bus taking us to all the attractions. And you can’t beat the price.
