Description

See Lady Liberty up close from a comfortable seat aboard the New York Water Taxi on this evening cruise. Sit back, relax and be sure to have your camera ready to capture the landmarks and city lights under the evening sky.

As you step aboard the water taxi, head upstairs to the open deck in clear weather to feel the wind in your hair. Both the deck and the main cabin afford some great photo opportunities, so admire the view as the vessel slips out of dock.

To your left, the majestic Brooklyn Bridge looms over the city along with the Brooklyn Promenade as you cruise through the mouth of the East River. Next, you head south around the tip of Lower Manhattan, up the Hudson and past the iconic World Trade Center complex. Across the water, you can see the neon lights of the historic octagonal Colgate Clock in Jersey City.

A turn to the south brings you closer to Ellis Island, and you can reflect on what life was like in the 1800s for the immigrants who walked through its buildings to arrive in America for the first time. The boat slows down in front of the Statue of Liberty so you can capture some fantastic photos accompanied by Frank Sinatra's iconic ode to the city, “New York, New York.”

Keep your camera handy, as the boat pivots to pass the downtown skyline once more on its return trip up the East River. From here, all 3 bridge crossings between Brooklyn and Manhattan come into view, with the Empire State Building off in the distance.

Great cruise, however it leaves earlier than what Expedia says it does. You should arrive no later than 6:30. (Expedia says to arrive by 7:00 as the cruise leaves at 7:30.) Tony was our tour guide and he qas excellent.

We stood on the Pier waiting for the taxi and it never came for us. I planned our entire vacation to where we would be at NYC on July 4th and be right there for their awesome fireworks. We stood there a few hours and totally missed the fireworks even though we watched allthe Macy barges go by loaded down with fireworks and all the ships headed put to watch them, including the water taxi that failed to pick us up. It completely ruined a well thought out and expensive vacation. There are no words to describe our disappointment.

The boat departs at 7:00, not 7:30. We arrived at 7:08, per the directions saying to arrive 15 minutes prior to 7:30 and almost missed the tour.
