Description

Head to beautiful Blue Lagoon Island and spend some time in a serene Caribbean paradise lounging by the beach and making a few new marine friends. The island is home to a park filled with friendly stingrays waiting to make your acquaintance, with a team of knowledgeable trainers nearby to enhance your experience.

Head to the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal and hop aboard a catamaran that takes you a short distance to Salt Cay, where you're greeted by bright white-sand beaches and turquoise water. Make your way to the stingray facility and meet a certified trainer who introduces you to the rays' habitat. Step into the shallow, lagoon-like sanctuary and let these safe social creatures swim up to you and greet you with gentle nudges. These flat, slippery animals are naturally curious and are happy to glide under your fingertips as you standing on the platform.

While you play and interact with the rays, a trainer offers insight about their behavior and the efforts in place to protect them and their environment. Put on a life jacket and snorkel gear and enjoy the opportunity to swim alongside the rays, observing their movements up close.

Your tour comes with free Beach Access. So take in a little more island and spend some time relaxing on the beach, enjoying a delicious grilled meal or indulging in a tropical drink at the bar ( food and drinks at an additional cost) before boarding the ferry back to Paradise Island.

The boat ride to and back was nice. The stringray encounter was very short, as was the snorkeling. We went at the 10:30 am slot and at checkin was told there was a private party that had rented the entire beach and we were restricted from using it. So we had to wait for more than 2 hours for the first boat back to Paradise Island with nothing to do. We were not given an option of changing to another day. So all in all-it wasn`t that good

It was a good experience. It’s important to contact the dolphin encounters to check in before you go to the ferry terminal. Something that wasn’t specified in Expedia. They have to give you the armbands and confirm the reservation before you can get on the boat. The ferry takes you to blue lagoon island where you have some time to play in the beach and go snorkeling . They have other activities like the inflatable water park, water biking and kayak rentals but at an additional cost. Snorkel gear is not included except when you are doing the stingray encounter. So best to bring your own life jacket and snorkel gear because rentals are 20 dollars plus an 20 dollar deposit. Everything on the island was super expensive. The stingray encounter was pretty short you get 30 minutes to pet the sting rays and feed them and 30 minutes to snorkel. They cut the activity short cuz it started to rain . When snorkeling with the stingray you don’t really get to get too close to them
