Beautiful landscapes abound at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, where many themed swaths of vibrant foliage group together to create stunning displays. Amble through the varying gardens as you savor the sights and smells of aromatic flowers, swaying trees, and unique sculptures made from living plants.

Make your way to Midtown Atlanta, where the Atlanta Botanical Garden stretches across 30 acres (12 ha) of land. Founded in 1976, the garden’s main goal is to develop a collection of plants that educates and inspires all those who visit, while working on conservation efforts around the area. Create your own route through the many themed gardens which include the Southern Seasons Garden, the Japanese Garden, the Rose Garden, and the Great Lawn.

As you meander from one display to the next, keep your eyes peeled for original works of art, as murals and sculptures can be found hidden in a number of gardens. Sit and relax alongside one of the many water features like the Woman Topiary Fountain, where a large woman figure is sculpted out of the foliage. Your day then ends with a prepared picnic lunch you can enjoy out in the sunshine.
