Explore the exotic rainforests, waterways, and fauna-filled parks of Costa Rica on this guided excursion. Drive through densely forested and mountainous Braulio Carillo National Park, and then hop on a boat for a cruise through the channels and lagoons of Tortuguero National Park.

Leave San Jose behind and ride into the lush and verdant Braulio Carillo National Park. The volcanic hillsides are criss-crossed with rivers and tumbling waterfalls, and as the heavy jungle begins to dissipate, emerge into the open fields of a banana plantation before you arrive at Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast.

Hop on a boat and set off through the wildlife-filled rainforest of Tortuguero National Park. As you cruise over tranquil waterways that manatees and crocodiles call home, keep your eyes peeled for toucans and monkeys in the tree canopy and jaguars peering out from behind the mangroves. The secluded beaches inside the park are one of the world’s most renowned nesting grounds for the endangered giant green sea turtle. In the summer months, watch the coastal beaches for the wizened marine creatures as they come ashore to lay their eggs in the sand.

Enjoy a savory lunch in this tranquil and pristine setting as your guide shares information and insights about the park's fascinating ecosystem before your return trip to San Jose.

Our tour guide, although very good, spoke almost

the entire way to Tourteguaro. We did not need to hear every detail of every bush and flower we passed.
