Description

The best way to truly understand the culture and the history of this amazing city is by hearing its stories from a great storytelling guide. Our True Tales of the French Quarter tour is a small-group adventure that takes you from the French Market to Jackson Square as you learn the stories of the individuals who lived here before us - what they did, why they did it, and how their actions affect us today.

Some of the stories you may hear as you walk through this 300-year-old neighborhood are about its founder, a French nobleman who preferred to strip down to as little as possible and cover his body with native tattoos, or a Spanish aristocratic lady who, despite having three fingers shot off by her father-in-law, went on to personally design our beautiful town square. Or, of course, “Old Hickory” himself, Andrew Jackson, who would throw you in the stockade for an eye-roll.

We could tell you the dedication date and architect of each building and the difference between a balcony, a gallery, and a loggia -and if you ask us we will- but we think you'd rather hear about a little boy who loved to cook with his mama and went on to become the most famous Cajun chef of all time, or about how jazz grew from “gut-bucket” music that could only be heard in the roughest honky-tonks to the soundtrack of our vibrant, bustling, fun city!

You bring the questions, we'll bring the tales, and soon you'll understand what makes New Orleans special!
