Description

Experience Oregon's sublime beauty as you travel to waterfall-filled Silver Falls State Park, and then taste a number of exquisite wines in Willamette Valley, famous for its pinot noirs. Discover how Oregon's distinctive natural character links them with informative narration from a naturalist guide on our all-inclusive small group (ten travelers or fewer) day tour.

Get picked up from your Portland hotel before you travel to Silver Falls, the largest state park in Oregon. Wander the expansive park, relishing in the scent of pine trees, the abundance of summer berries, and the gentle mist of the waterfalls. Make visits to 2 waterfalls as your naturalist guide leads you down peaceful nature trails, and even travel behind the waterfall on a cave trail.

In the afternoon, lounge about at where you have the opportunity to sip on pinot noirs and other varietals. Admire the rolling hills and the vineyards nestled among them, as an expert guide teaches you how the character of the land influences the taste of the wine. Eat a local lunch at Coelho Winery in Amity.

Our guide Marcus was AMAZING - we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and had the fun of this trip with 8 other people. Marcus is SOOO very knowledgeable about not just wine, but the region, history and so much of the land. He had an amazing rapport with each of the wineries and the owners. The waterfalls were just breaktaking and doing the hike down behind the North and South Falls was just such an amazing experience. Lunch was delicious and I cannot say enough about the hospitality of the vineyards. My husband is converted to a white wine fan and we joined a wine club at one of the wineries so we get to relive this event 4 times a year when our wines are delivered to Ohio. Bravo to Evergreen Escapes and especially to Marcus.
