"It was near the Ocean. Staff should help more with talking about tours or is seeing neighborhood attractions and shops close by for first timers. I did not have a voucher so paying triple amount to get to a hotel in the dark that was an experience. "We had a nice visit here at the Melia in Cozumel. I would give it a 9 out of 10 rating. As others have mentioned, I would recommend upgrading to the Level experience. Better food options and other amenities, plus a bigger room. Place was very clean, room was nice and chilly, and everyone was exceptionally friendly. Overall the food was quite good, but I was disappointed by one thing. Both of the hotels offer entrees where you can upgrade and get something a little more expensive or exotic....

The Superior 1 Bedroom had an equipped kitchen (with stove top, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster), living room, dining table, king bed, safe, and a long balcony accessing the living room and bedroom. "Had a great trip to Mexico, hotel was clean, pools were great. Not all the entertainment was for me but lots of variety for everyone, games, activities, shows and music. My real negative with the Viva Maya was with the staff. Check in was slow 2 desks working, lots of paperwork and questions. Sadly I had an awful interaction with 2 of the staff Antonio and Meses. "The location of the hotel is great, in a more quiet part of the fifth street, very close to good restaurants and beach. The staff is generally great, except for the breakfast team. Unfortunately the breakfast is not great at all, very limited, and the breakfast staff is flat-out rude and have no standards for service. Would not recommend to pay extra for daily breakfast, the hotel should focus more on the rooms and guest service instead of trying to upsell breakfast, if this is not a priority."
