The Red Dragon House

The Red Dragon House is a great location for those who wish to discover Ashland, along with the southern Rogue Valley, but still get that rural feeling while remaining only minutes from town. The single-story house is spacious at nearly 1,000 square feet, and features mountain views of the southern Rogue Valley. The house features a large open living room/kichen area, with lots of counter space, two well-appointed bedrooms and a bathroom shower, suitable for those with mild handicaps, and has three decks from which to choose, all on a property that is 5.2 acres, in a rural neighborhood, that's quiet. All this only five minutes from the nearest restaurants and markets, and ten minutes from Downtown Ashland, and the Mt. Ashland Ski Area is only 19 miles away!

While the neighborhood is quiet, it should be mentioned that the property is adjacent to I-5, which makes getting to us easy, but does provide some road noise. So, if it's total quiet you require, this may not be the best fit for you, though the there is no road noise inside the house.

Red Dragon House Stay
This is the ideal place to stay if you're traveling with pet(s). Mindy was a very gracious host. Lots of thought has been put into the amenities offered. We loved the three different decks and the enclosed yard for our dogs. We'd love to stay there again next year on our annual Southern Oregon trip.

Rural setting just minutes from downtown Ashland!
We highly recommend Mike and Mindy's spacious 2 bedroom property. They had the most thorough instructional manual we've ever seen, and additionally had clearly labeled drawers and cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom making it easy to find whatever we needed. We met the delightful Mindy out on her spacious grounds with her incredible dogs, and enjoyed our morning coffee on the covered back porch looking out at the trees and distant hills. Would definitely return!

Spectacular!
Everything about the Red Dragon House was wonderful! The house is spotless and comfortable, with three (!) porches each with spectacular views of the Siskiyous and Cascades. Perfect for the elderly and families as well. Mike and Mindy were perfect hosts, as were Toby and Samantha. The ground squirrels were the cutest things as well. We stayed a month and didn't want to leave--we'll be back!

Family Visit
The Red Dragon House was the perfect place for our visit to Ashland. Quiet country feel yet so close to town. The day of snow was an added bonus. The house is well appointed. Mike and Mindy have made it so comfortable. There was even an outdoor plug available for the Tesla. Perfect. We are definitely making this our base for future family visits.

We came to Ashland for a wedding. Such a cute place, quiet, rural. The kitchen was well stocked with absolutely anything and everything you could think of. Beds were comfy. Linens, towels, luxurious. And, super dog friendly!

Arriving after a long drive, we found The Red Dragon House to be warm and welcoming. Our teen was thrilled with the excellent selection of snacks. We stayed less than 12 hours due to our driving schedule, but hope to return one day when we have more time to spend. Will definitely go back!

Wonderful stay
Lovely property with beautiful mountain views from both porches. Warm, comfortable, clean and welcoming. Well stocked with thoughtful touches, including things for our pups! Dog-freindly, with a completely fenced in yard so our pups could roam free in that area. It was the perfect stop on our road trip. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Convenient, spacious, safe and comfortable
We stopped here for 1 night. I chose this accommodation for several reasons: My husband is ‘walking challenged’ and this place met his needs nicely. It was a short walk (<35 feet) from parking to cottage. We also wanted secure overnight parking since mobility/medical equipment would be stowed in the vehicle. So much better than typical, hotel parking. So many nice touches throughout our short stay - too many to mention. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great stay for visit with college daughter

Friends getaway
Mike and Mindy are fantastic hosts. They have gone above and beyond to stock everything you could possibly need. They respond quickly to any questions. They even have a great collection of books, pamphlets and thorough recommendations to fabulous food, wineries, hikes, etc. The home is lovely with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to relax.

We loved The Red Dragon House!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Dragon House with our two dogs! The host checked in with us when we first arrived and made sure to let us know that they were available if anything was needed or if we had any questions. They made us feel very welcome. There was a nice fenced in area for the dogs as well as an enclosed back patio that we could hang out with our pups on. Blankets and furniture covers were provided for the dogs as well as treats. The beds were comfortable and despite the proximity to the highway, you could hardly hear it at all. We also enjoyed all the Dragons throughout the house inside and out. It was a relaxing space to be in. Highly recommend this home and we will definitely be looking to book again the next time we come to Ashland.

This is an excellent place to stay. It is a clean well maintained house. The owner was so nice to us and the house had everything you could think you needed including snacks. If I'm ever in the area and need a place to stay, I'm coming back.
