La Porta Rossa is located at the heart of Bologna , a 5-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, in a quiet street, in one of the most unspoiled areas of the center of Bologna, a few steps from Piazza Maggiore. The apartment is in the context of a renovated and elegant building and is elegantly furnished and equipped with all the comfort, specifically made and finished in order to be destined to be temporary rented. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, large living room with sofa bed all for you exclusively. Oriented toward the inside part of the building is completely quiet and peaceful. It also has a large terrace with dining table. Equipped with air conditioning, very fast wi-fi and complete with washing machine and dryer. In the living room there is a large screen television. The building has an elevator heading down to the floor of the parking space. You can park in the garage at the daily price of 25 EUR plus city tax of access to the LTZ of 6 euro for entry. From the station, the apartment is a 15 minute walk, otherwise you can take one of the many buses that travel along the nearby Independence and Marconi streets. From the airport we suggest to take a taxi which cost does not usually exceed 25 euro. The presence of a garage allows easy access by car.

Short break in Bologna
What a perfect property, fantastic location, lovely patio & the property is immaculate. The hosts Guiseppina & Marco could not have been nicer or more helpful with all aspects of our visit. They provided a huge range of information on museums, attractions, art galleries, restaurants & transport. They also made reservations for us at a local Trattoria & arranged private transfer to the airport.

Wonderful hosts and apartment!
Giuseppina and Marco were wonderful hosts! They were super communicative within days of our check in. Sent us lots of useful information in advance and when we arrived showed us all around the apartment. Giuseppina also offered and made several restaurant reservations and did not steer us wrong. She is the Italian grandmother we all want! The location is perfect near the city center but on a quiet street so you can sleep/relax peacefully! All the stars to Giuseppina and Marco for their wonderful hospitality!

Outstanding in all respects!
We had an excellent stay at this very special property. Giuseppina met us at the apartment when we arrived and spent a nice long time telling us about the apartment and the wonderful city of Bologna. Her English is much better than our Italian and we could communicate with each other quite easily. She made restaurant reservations for our first evening and also reserved a taxi for us for the day of our departure. The apartment itself is very spacious and so nicely furnished and designed (emphasis on design). The bedrooms are modern and comfortable as are the two bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you would ever need and was a delight to use. The couch in the living room was a beauty with such a special design form that I took a photo so I could try to find one in the US. I am told that the company does do business here. We really enjoyed the large furnished patio, adorned with lots of greenery, for coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoons. Both Giuseppina and Marco were available to us at a moment's notice for advice on restaurants and train travel to lovely towns nearby. They could not have been more gracious. We recommend this property without hesitation.

The Red Door Apartment and our host, Guisippina, were both wonderful. The apartment was clean, comfortable, attractive and in as good a location in central Bologna as one could wish. Guisippina took care of us as if we were family, on arrival, during our stay and on departure. Highly recommended.

Giuseppina, the host, was so welcoming and helpful, personalising information and making bookings and reservations for us. Porta Rossa is centrally located so everything is within walking distance. The jewel in the crown is the spacious terrace with it’s abundance of succulent plants. A lovely area to relax in with a glass of local wine

Absolutely PHENOMENAL property
There are just not enough superlatives to describe how wonderful the property itself is: So very spacious, comfortable seating, squeaky clean, and incredible location. The patio was a gorgeous bonus space to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an aperitif in the afternoon. The owner went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed; when the guests who had just checked out broke the washer, the owner had the laundry picked up and washed everything at her house! So grateful for her communication and assistance. She provided a very thorough and informative email with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. The location was a quick 18 minute walk to the train station where we caught a train to Modena one day and to Ravenna the following day. The property would make an great homebase for day trips by train to many of the larger cities. We give this our highest recommendation!! (We are seasoned travelers to Italy ( 11 trips) and have used VRBO for all of our property rentals.)

This was a really great place. Fabulous location. Caring and helpful hosts. Wonderful patio. A/C. We had such a wonderful time here. We spent a lot of time on the patio, particularly in the evenings. We cooked several meals in the very well equipped kitchen. Enjoyed hanging our clothes to dry after using the excellent washing machine. And really appreciate our always helpful hosts. Bologna was also a treat. We loved the porticoes, and found them very helpful in the heat.

The Red Door was a fabulous apartment in a centrally located area of Bologna. The space is so comfortable and easy for 2 couples. I Would recommend this place!
The place is exactly as advertised. Pictures in the listing are accurate. We really enjoyed the patio as we had our breakfast and morning cafe while enjoying the morning sun. The apartment is located close to the centre of Bologna so is easy to get around. Our host Guiseppina was wonderful. Giuseppina, the optimum host!
We arrived late and Giuseppina was waiting for us. She couldn’t have done more for us, offering information on cultural events, where to dine, and visit, even booking us in to dine at a local restaurant when we arrived, and arranged for a taxi when we left. The apartment is light, spacious with modern furniture and objet’art, and so quiet considering it’s central location. Within just a few minutes you can be where you want to be…..oh, and if you want to try out a little bit of the Italian language with her that’s ok too.
