"I was so very pleasantly surprised and happy with my choice to stay at The Flagler Inn!! The price was a bit high for the first few nights, however it was a Holiday weekend. When I added, unexpectedly, another night, the rate was fairly reasonable. The property owners are doing a beautiful job updating, what seems to have been a dated property. I love what they have done and it seems like they are still in progress!! Homey, clean, bright, pleasant, comfy.......I don't know how many words I need...

"It was a pleasant experience. I happened to be staying there when hurricane Sally hit. My room stayed fine. However, the lobby was damaged by the winds and rain, lost power and water. The staff and manager on hand were excellent. They didn’t act frazzled or anxious. They took care of matters and us guests. I really enjoyed the history of the hotel, too. "

"What a gem!! This hotel is more like a resort, but with the charm of an old, southern, colonial estate. It’s gorgeous! The rooms even have regular keys with a little brass key tag with your room number. The rooms were clean, have great a/c and tv, and a very comfortable bed. There’s no microwave or fridge which was fine, we don’t use them. The pool was huge and well kept, and overlooked the lake just like the pictures suggest. The staff was welcoming and super helpful. "This hotel is one my family and I would usually book, however it has absolutely gone down hill fast. There is absolutely NO dining area on premises, zero ice machines, rust and mold in the rooms, and no coffee makers in any rooms. We had to go off property just to even get a meal or snack. Oh and housekeeping is done ONLY after you check out. So needless to say, we WON'T be staying here again."
