The Cliff Dweller on Lake Superior
2.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, 895 reviews
"The property is located right along Lake Superior and each room has a balcony that overlooks the lake. The property is somewhat older, but the owners are doing a lot of repairs. Our check-in was smooth and quick, the staff was very friendly, and coffee/hot chocolate/hot cider were available all day in a very nice sitting area. Although you have to drive to anyplace to eat, the location was close enough to towns that it wasn't a big issue. We also love Tofte and Grand Marais, so both were easy...

"We chose this hotel based on location and price and it met our needs and expectations in those categories. Is it fancy? No but it had everything we needed. When I booked I wasn’t expecting a refrigerator or continental breakfast so those were nice surprises. The hotel needs some work done to it for sure. The ladies working there were all very nice and accommodating. "
