Hyatt Vacation Club at The Lodges at Timber Ridge, Branson
4.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (1469)
"The room was in excellent condition and clean! Although,I have only one complaint…there was a considerable amount of squirrel dung on the patio porch. In the morning I swept up the dung, went out for activities and when we returned home for the evening there was just as much dung and it was accompanied with flies. It put a damper on our evening plans to relax and enjoy the sun setting. Otherwise all else was marvelous."

"This hotel had a very cool museum throughout the first two floors. It was extremely clean and the staff were all very courteous! I walked around by myself in the area for a few miles and it was safe. The theatre and convention center are an easy walk for broadway shows. And the highlight is the Savoy with some of the best food I’ve had in forever. It’s an upscale steakhouse with vegan options. Desserts that were crafted amazingly. Just really really good food! When to Go

Missouri doesn’t have an off-season; it offers a great escape at any time of the year. Autumn is a great choice for romantic getaways. Take a stroll with your special someone and search the woods for red maple leaves and purple dogwoods, and then curl up and build a fire against the slight chill. Winters tend to be mild, but a snowfall might set the mood for holiday celebrations. Spend an afternoon ice skating at one of the many indoor or outdoor rinks, or plan a ski vacation. Spring brings redbuds, wildflowers, and some great deals. Check out Expedia.com for cheap flights to Missouri and deals on Missouri hotels. Of course, summer is always a great time to visit. The long, hot days are perfect for tubing on the Current River or boating on the state's many reservoirs.

What to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts come for the fishing and caving opportunities or just to spend a lazy day on the river. Families love the waterparks, theme parks, and state parks. Two state parks, Bennett Springs and Roaring River, offer excellent trout fishing. Elephant Rocks State Park is a favorite escape from St. Louis. Even some adults can't resist climbing the giant, elephant-shaped boulders.

If your tastes are more on the cosmopolitan side, check out the cities for art museums, playhouses, and premium shopping. Forest Park in St. Louis offers a host of free activities, from a world-class zoo to a state-of-the-art science center. Nearby, you will find The Hill, an iconic Italian neighborhood with shotgun houses and delicious restaurants and bakeries. Families love the City Museum, a 600,000-square foot indoor playground where kids can crawl through caves and climb into cockpits.

Don't forget about Branson, the ultimate family getaway. It combines all the best that Missouri has to offer: history, water sports, museums, and music. The lodgings all have that small-town Ozark charm that can only be found at hotels in Branson. Bring the kids to experience the olden days at Silver Dollar City, or leave them at home for a relaxing vacation at Table Rock Lake.

Regions in Missouri

The different regions in Missouri offer very distinct experiences for travelers. The Bootheel area in Southeast Missouri feels like the Old South. Cotton fields stretch to the horizon, and southern culture permeates the small towns. The Mississippi River dominates the area, often flooding its banks to renew the rich soil. To the southwest, you will find the Ozark Mountains, one of the oldest mountain ranges in North America. Time and weather have worn the mountains down to hills, creating stunning bluffs and valleys in the process. The Northwest region flattens out as you enter the vast fields and plains that stretch all the way to the Rocky Mountains. This is the beginning of the Heartland, that vast and fertile area known as America's Breadbasket. With its central location and great variety, you just can’t miss with Missouri, so visit Expedia.com to book your trip today.
