"We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and all we needed for our stay as we were on the go each day. Front desk staff very helpful. The location was great. Located half a block from Union Square and Powell Street cable car. Chinatown 15 min walk. We went to a couple of baseball games and walked to the stadium (30 minutes). Continental breakfast was nice bonus. We would definitely stay there again. "

"Very nice and spacious room. The hotel has a beautiful guest sitting room that we really enjoyed. We decided to stay in this hotel for two nights when attending a 4-days conference because it looks nice and one review stated the breakfast included local food, we were curious about local cooking, even though I did not find anything unique during our stay. "

"Absolutely charmed filled stay. More like a bed and breakfast experience. Cody the concierge was excellent. Shared a wealth of knowledge and added to the value of our stay. Loved the elevator. Just wished there was a mini fridge in the room but no biggie."

"I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks. The decor is faded but it fits with the history of the building. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable, the shower is hot. The staff have been attentive and pleasant. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is clean and comfortable but without the flash and expense of new decor and fancy furnishings, I cannot recommend this hotel enough."

"This property is located in an ideal area where everything is just about walking distance. You will find countless shopping, dining and more within 5 to 10 minutes away. The hotel is a bit older and could use a "makeover" but the facilities are pretty decent. I just wish the breakfast room was open later to at least 10 AM every morning."

"The outside of the bldg can be deceiving. Once you step inside the hotel is quite nice. The front desk was courteous and had a room available before actual check-in. The elevator is a bit outdated but no problem. The room is a bit small but comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very nice and clean. The only downside is the AC did not work in the room but we did not notice until late in the day and did not want to bother staff to move us to another room. "

"Fantastic breakfast with lots of different types of yummy pastries. We stayed two nights, went to Yosemite for a night, then returned for another night at Grant Hotel. The staff were happy to hold our luggage for us (chained to a post in the reception area) while we were at Yosemite which was very handy, and it was also just a 5 minute walk to our tour bus departure point. The rooms were lovely and location was good."
