We had a small vow ceremony with some friends. We organized a small dinner on the beach that turned out great. The staff actually went above and beyond. There provided service that we didn’t expect. In addition, the dinner set up they did was incredible. I’ll never forget it. I would definitely stay here again. The one think I would have liked to know ahead of time was the $1000 hold for incidentals, that was kinda is steep. Also be forewarned that you can head everything in your room and there is no insulation. Other than that. Perfect place.

Mahekal is a beautiful resort. The lush foliage and palapa “cabins” make you feel like you’re a million miles away from everything, but it’s very convenient to great restaurants. It was peaceful and serene. The staff are all amazing, especially Meraz, Claudia and Jesus Brito in the Revive Spa. The hammocks in the balcony are just an added bonus. If looking for a party scene or on-property nightlife, this isn’t the place.

Xel Ha was a great day trip. But, it took 3 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back. Sales representative told us that it was a 1 1/2 ride
