The lodge was like a old farm house with a lot of bedrooms which is where we placed We did not have any heat control in our room no TV and all the rooms shared 2 bathrooms. Someone using the bathroom the next morning left such a awful odor people were gagging. No spray that we could find. The showers did not look all that appealing after other people used them. The bar has very limited drink choices and the restaurant had very limited choices. A hotel would have been a better choice.

This a historic Roadhouse, reminiscent of my grandparents farmhouse. The new owners are bringing back the charm and history. Beautifully set on the river. Next door is their own bar and restaurant. Met some fabulous vacationers and swapped stories.

Historic old lodge, in the country, and adjacent to a fast flowing river. Has alot of character and fun place to stay. Staff was very friendly and place was clean. I would recommend a newer bed mattress for the one we had sagged due to our weights . Would stay again.

Just remember when you stay here you are going back in time. Everyone are extremely nice. Bathrooms are clean. Just need to share them. Not use to that but it worked. Chris the bartender was very nice. Good drinks and good food. Just remember these are very old buildings.

Nice place, interesting history but NOT a breakfast. Beautiful corner room and no problems with the shared bathrooms. It is not staffed overnight or at breakfast time. Breakfast offerings were yogurt, white bread, sugared cereals, coffee and watered down juice. It did say continental but it was spartan at the very most.

Would not recommend, it is more of a bed and breakfast than a lodge..double booked all the rooms and tried to put me in a dirty back room with only a mattress and an old couch. The only window was broken out and had a garbage bag covering it. It truly felt like I was at shrute farms from the office. They were nice but it was unbelievable. Dont recommend

I found the location and the structures to be extremely charming. It was cool to stay in an older log home at this Alaska-historic roadhouse. It seems like a fun community space as well as a cozy stop along the highway. There's a bar and a small restaurant next door to the main lodge/cabins that offer decent food and drinks for the price. Whether you're headed off for fishing, camping, or just need somewhere to stay the night in your travels it's a fun little spot to hit along the road. There isn't much negative to say about it. When we stayed it had recently been purchased by new owners who were still getting the hang of things, so things seemed a little hectic in terms of the food service and the internet connection needing some troubleshooting, but these were pretty negligible for me and I'm sure they'll all be hammered out with time. Overall a solid experience for us, and I'd definitely recommend it to someone who's traveling through the area looking for a reasonably priced spot.

For a historic place, it’s cool to see and to say you’ve experienced. However, be prepared to hear every other person in the lodge. It’s an old place, so lots of creaks and very thin walls. Our down also didn’t lock for our bedroom, but we only stayed for a night so didn’t worry about our belongings. The host was kind and helped us with a late check-in. Cool place for the history, but not easy to get a good night’s rest.

I arrived at midnight with a car starting problem. Rebecca met me outside with a trickle charger for my battery. She also awoke her husband, I disagreed on that; to help me with the charger. My room was clean, new sheets and the bathrooms were very clean. Everything I needed was immediately attended too. AWESOME service. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend staying there.
