“This is a great place to stay! Walking distance to the beach! Beautiful View from the bedroom and lanai! Comfortable bed! Everything that you could need for cooking, snorkeling, and just enjoying your stay without having to drive anywhere if you don't want to! I would definitely stay here again!”

No, this house is filled with a spirit of its own where you can feel the life of all those that have passed through these doors. If the walls could speak it would tell you the stories of some great writer who sat where you are now staring out to the stream below. If there was one word to describe this house……

“We decided to rent a beach house to house a few family members who flew over from Catalina Island to come to my Dad's Celebration of Life! Both my Aunt and Uncle from Catalina Island are 87 and 90 Years old. The house was very comfortable and easily accessible with a cane. Although we did experience some rainfall having the rocks embedded in the entrance floor and stairs made it easy for them to go up and down the stairs. My mother and I took advantage of the Kayaks and stand up paddle board one……

“The house was a roomy older house, conveniently located 5 minutes from downtown Hilo. Overall, the house was terrific. The only drawback was the shower stall and showerhead. The shower flow was insufficient. A hand-held shower head would be better!”

“Our host was so prompt with responding to us even after we left and thought we'd left an item in the rental. The place was so clean and it made our already wonderful stay even more so!”

“Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). Don't miss Uncle Robert's on Wednesday night with other locals. It was a great time. Also, the Lava Flow museum in Pahoa……

“This was the perfect house for us. We especially loved the separate bedroom for our son to stay in. It was a fully stocked kitchen and a nice grill so we cooked in every night. The hot tub was great too! Mindi and John are wonderful hosts with top notch communication. The location was perfect for exploring the National Park and surrounding areas. The pictures just don't do this place justice, it's way cooler!”

“We could not have been more pleased. Our early birds enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the mornings drinking coffee and listening to the light sprinkle in the trees, while watching the local "wildlife" in the yard. Those of us who enjoy a few more hours of sleep loved the peacefulness of the place. We had everything we could have needed - our hosts thought of it all! The location was wonderful for a visit to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Hilo was only a short drive away and we visited that……

“This house was a great place to stay! It was nice and clean and the view was amazing! It doesn't have AC so we had to open al the doors and windows to get a cool air flow.”

“We had a fantastic stay at the Rainforest Cottage. The property was extremely clean and very private. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed and there was a large supply of items for use on day excursions (coolers, snorkeling gear, etc). The location was convenient to explore Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and the Hilo area. Thank you Matt for sharing your slice of paradise with us!”

“This home looked great in the pictures, but they honestly do not do it justice. Definitely the nicest property we ever stayed at! Immaculate, roomy, and well supplied, it exceeded all our expectations. The sunrises were different ever morning, but each one spectacular. The abundance of sea turtles for watching in the water near the shore may have been our favorite part. Thank you for sharing this place with us!”

“So far was a good hotel for stay in Hilo. The only thing was bad experience, there was fire emergency alarm at 3:00 am to wake up every body and let’s waking down from stairs. Next day was no explaining what happened that night. ”
