First impressions are important. Someone has invested a lot of money in this property only to come up short on the final product. This is an older but recently updated multi building hotel just across from Lake Tahoe. The location is amazing. The first experience you will have is in the understaffed registration building which has has zero renovation and is completely unwelcoming. When we checked in the small area was full of people trying to register with only one staff member available. The process is slowed by having to fill out physical paperwork with multiple initials and signatures like its 1985. The staff member was kind and friendly but overwhelmed. Our room was large, clean and nicely appointed, but is already starting to show wear and lacked attention to detail. This place has tremendous potential and a great location but is right on the edge failure and success. Bottom Line: I would not suggest that you should avoid this hotel, but I would suggest you tamp down your expectations. The online photos are heavily filtered.

Property is alright. For what we paid I was expecting more. There was more options, and choosing this location based on a few factors. Location is there. Proximity to food and the lake. The room is just a small place to stay. The tv was a 32in…. On walking in, they said since buying a thru Expedia, they could not validate my military discount and added a pet fee on top of the overly inflated price as it was. It’s an experience, yet Expedia does not give you the customer the information upfront of the charges that they will incur as they bring a pet.
