We always stay at Ocean Reef when we visit Myrtle Beach! We always get an oceanfront room that includes a balcony, and the view is beautiful. Another major plus for us is the breakfast buffet, which offers a huge variety of delicious breakfast foods. The staff has become like old friends, and we're always glad to see them.

Nice area but the hotel itself needs some serious updating. Really didn't converse with the staff but they seemed attentive when in conversation with guests. Price was really reasonable. It's a no frills place to stay, breakfast must be paid for. No free continental breakfast.

Checked in at 335pm (check-in online was 4pm)and was told i had been allowed an early check-in but my room was not ready. My room was not available till 5pm. No reasons, apologies or comps were given for the delay. There were many people checking in and given rooms at that time but there were also many whos rooms were not ready Staff was not personable or very friendly across all areas of the property. No directions were given for parking or how to find our room until asked Room wasnt very clean(visable garbage behind the dresser) towel on tub was wet upon check in, carpet was fraying, paint on bottom of bathroom door was chipped off about 2 inches, coffee grounds on the balcony and sunflower seeds in one of the beds and we didnt have sunflower seeds

The room was extremely outdated. The carpet needs to be replaced. Carpet looked filthy, was rolled up in places & had something black stuck on it. The kitchenette floor was very sticky.
