Rooms are dated. It needs a gotal remodel. breakfast was the oblycreally good mill...plus the nathan's hot dog's in the sports bar....there is a ramp from the main lobby (more like a hill)... to the rooms..horrible....i had to walk up.ans down this thing everyday...it was exhausting...too exhausting fo a vacation..
I would've recommend this place and I won't be back

The property was in a great location, close to restaurants outside dining shopping, and dancing. Love the way they entertained us after dinner. That was a nice touch, love the pool area, it was quite large, and I didn’t feel like I was crowded in a small space. But I did not like that. I booked a room with an ocean view. . But I did not like that. I booked a room with a partial ocean view and a double bed and that is not what I received and the room needed a little fixing, the dryer was broken, the rail in the shower was broken, and there was dust falling from the ceiling. But we made the most of it.

I give the resort 2 stars due to the location and the beach. Palm beach is absolutely beautiful! The location of the resort is right across the street from the strip. However the resort its self is not the best. We had issues with check-in, the resort itself is very dated the elevator sounds like it’s going to go out with every ride. At one point the elevator didn’t work at all. We had a king size bed, which is 2 full size beds put together but there is a clear separation in the bed. Being that we were on our honeymoon we really didn’t attend on sleeping on 2 different beds. It was either that or squeeze on 1 side so someone doesn’t fall through the crack. Beds themselves very uncomfortable.
Also the bar, at these prices there should be top shelf liquor, or at least the option to upgrade to top shelf.
Pool Side entertainment wasn’t great, they’d play 1 song get everyone going then dead silent for 15 minutes or follow up with a slow song. Throughout our stay numerous guests asked us what we think about the hotel, and everyone felt the same way. We ate out on the strip every night, the nearby restaurants were amazing. Bottom line Aruba is amazing, the beach was amazing, the people and stores and restaurants amazing. Next time we would just stay at a different resort.

I got a junior suite ocean view and my view was the parking lot and I don’t think that’s okay with the amount of money that I spent !!!

The RIU has a lot of nerve charging what it does for this hotel. The place is extremely rundown, dated and not very clean and honestly needs to be shut down and completely renovated. The room was awful and quite frankly gross. The level of humidity in the room made it feel like everything was wet, including the bedsheets which made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep not to mention the bed itself was very uncomfortable. Additionally when we got into the room, the bedsheets were dirty and there were no blankets on the bed and there were No Liners in the garbage pails. The lock on the slider to the balcony was broken. The safe deposit box was broken and the decor looks like that of a cheap motel. Also, you have to put your room key in a slot above a light switch in order for all of the electric in the room to work. As for the food, lunch and dinner were practically inedible although Breakfast was good. We ended up eating out for lunch and dinner every day. On a positive note, the beach and pool were great and the site is conveniently located to restaurants and shopping and a great section of Aruba. Additionally the Staff was all really nice.
While we will be returning to Aruba, I would never stay at the RIU palace again. In fact, this stay has solidified for me that I will never stay at a RIU anywhere ever again.
