The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science offers visitors of all ages myriad ways to explore science. Expose your kids to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning via engagement with fun activities and fascinating exhibits.
View fish, sharks, rays and other marine creatures from above and below in the museum’s three-level aquarium. Habitats range from coral reefs and mangrove forests to sandy shores and Florida’s unique Everglades ecosystem. Learn about deep-water jellies, understand the Gulf Stream and touch starfish, sea cucumbers and urchins in the Dive Bar.
Move from the aquarium to the stars in the 250-seat Frost Planetarium. Exciting shows use 3-D projection and surround sound to create immersive experiences simulating flying through space. Travel to planets and galaxies or enjoy laser light shows.
The museum itself is filled with state-of-the art exhibits in numerous interesting areas of science. Feathers to the Stars studies flight, from feathered animals to early aviation pioneers and humankind’s exploration of space. Build and launch your own rocket.
Look inward in MeLaß, where five interactive zones let you turn your body into an experimental lab, studying your senses, reflexes and responses. Temporary exhibits such as Brain: The Inside Story provide even more anatomical insights.
Design Lab is a rotating exhibition space that lets you experiment with design and innovation. Address an actual design challenge using problem-solving skills and putting your brain to work in new and different ways.
